“GOSSIP GIRL” PRODUCERS LAND “CARRIE DIARIES”

With all this talk of possible Sex and the Citymovie prequels, little attention’s been paid toThe Carrie Diaries—the Candace Bushnell penned series about Carrie Bradshaw’s high school days.  About a month ago the series was rumored to be heading for the CW and on Friday the network finalizedtheir purchase.

Aside from the automatic teen-cred it gets from CW backing, the series also has Josh Schwarz and Stephanie Savage in its corner, the executive producing duo behindGossip Girl.  Amy Harris, who was a writer on the original Sex and the Cityseries on HBO, will write the show and get a producing credit.

The, which will take place in New England, will hit the CW next year.  Now bring on the casting rumors!
